Australian Pursuit Races August 9, 2014 in Honor of Tom Elling

Australian Pursuit races will be run in honor of Tom Elling who passed away on August 8, 2013. Tom was involved in dirt track racing for over 20 years. He started with a car in the Bomber class, then moved on to a car and truck in the Sportsman class, and finally settled into the Late Model Class. He loved watching his cars on the track, but more importantly, enjoyed giving young men/boys the opportunity to drive a racecar, especially when he knew they would probably never have another opportunity to encounter this type of experience.

Tom was a very giving man and helped many other racers when they needed it most. He would loan out chassis’s, motors, tools, time and parts- whatever the racer needed to be ready for the next race or to complete the season. There are too many names of the people he helped to mention, but you know who you are and it made him feel good to be able to help each of you!

The pursuit will consist of the top 10 in points, lined up single file and inverted. Each pursuit will be 10 laps.
