Nancy “The Popcorn Popper” Loses Battle With Breast Cancer

Nancy L. Eberly, age 50, of Lyons, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 24, 2009 after a 1 ½ year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Morenci, MI on May 27, 1958 to the late James Ehrsam, who passed away in 1977 and Donna (Wyse) Green who survives. Nancy was a 1977 graduate of Wauseon High School. On April 2, 1984 she married Jerry W. Eberly and he survives. She enjoyed riding horses and will always be remembered as the one popping popcorn at the family business, Oakshade Raceway. Along with her father, Jim, Nancy was preceded in death by her step-father, Jon Green. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Steve Anglemyre of Toledo; daughter, Joline Elliott of Florida; brothers, Jim (Anita) Ehrsam of Wauseon and Ron (Becky) Ehrsam of Lyons; sister, Pam (Terry) Henricks of Lyons; grandson, Connor Elliott; many loving nieces and nephews, and her canine companion “Queenie”. Friends may call 2-5 and 6-8 PM on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; where a funeral services celebrating Nancy’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2009. Burial will follow at Winameg Cemetery in Delta. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
